On 11 May, FITS became a member of  Acelera PYME [Accelerate SMEs] by Red.es, an initiative and platform created by the Spanish Government to help SMEs and self-employed workers mitigate the impacts of the pandemic. With this new collaboration, FITS and IED are able to connect with a large part of the Spanish productive fabric, offering their consultancy services and tailor-made training on digital adaptation and transformation in a range of sectors.

The Acelera PYME programme provides for measures amounting to €250m in the field of technology to address the crisis generated by COVID-19. Within this budget, €36m is earmarked for talent programmes, €14m for the digital transformation of SMEs, €130m to technological development in Artificial Intelligence and other enabling technologies, €55m to boosting the data economy and digital content, and €15m to entrepreneurship support.

Through the Acelera PYME portal, SMEs and the self-employed can access financing solutions and financial assistance, technological solutions, consultancy services, recommendations on cybersecurity to be taken into account in the current context, and actions to foster talent within SMEs and self-employed workers.
